LCSW, LIMHP, Therapist
Nebraska and Colorado
I appreciate the courage it takes to seek therapy. If you are struggling with loss or life transitions, stuck in various forms of addiction or simply desire some objectivity then I would love to work with you. I enjoy helping people find insight and relief. In the process my approach will be direct yet compassionate.
About
"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves..."
-Rainer Maria Rilke
Early in my career I worked for "Fortune 500" companies primarily in finance and accounting. Feeling unfulfilled in that work I went to a therapist to explore my options. I examined much more than work-related burnout, including the source of my own personal stressors and how to manage them. My experience in therapy was thoughtful and substantive. Inspired by the process I completed my graduate degree and became a therapist. My bachelors and masters degrees are in social work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and I have ten years of clinical experience.

My early work experience was in addiction with substance use and process addictions. At the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a small team of psychiatrists and therapists, I helped create and deliver programming for the hospital's first ever intensive outpatient program (IOP).

Later at Family Enrichment, Omaha's longest-standing group practice, I grew professionally as a third managing partner. There I helped oversee operations of the practice and compliance with regulatory requirements, in addition to providing therapy. Today I have a solo practice in Nebraska and Colorado and split my time at both locations.

I have served on professional boards and supervised students. I'm a member of multiple consultation groups that meet regularly to review best practices and the latest in therapy interventions and modalities.

I work with a variety of evidence-based therapy styles. Some of the wider-known techniques I use include traditional cognitive behavioral-based therapies (CBT), motivational interviewing, internal family systems (IFS), and trauma-specific modalities. I am certified in brainspotting and am currently working toward certification in the Gestalt Method. Most of my early training was alongside psychodynamic-oriented clinicians and those theories continue to inform my work today.
